My name is Kayla, I am a stay at home mommy to two beautiful girls, Serenity and Destiny. I believe YOU are YOUR child’s biggest influence and it is YOUR job to teach them values and how to respect themselves and others… YOU are the BEST “teacher” your child could ever have.
I have been with Dustin for 5 years as of September 2010. He’s been a huge part of my life for the last five years (and counting), I love that he’s constantly encouraging me to expand my interests, we never have a problem figuring out what to talk about. He’s also really pushed me to become a better person.
I try to always think outside of the box, I think it’s very important to try and see things from more than one perspective... You should always have an open mind. Whoever it was that said “ignorance is bliss” was wrong.
One of my favorite pastimes is reading. Books by Nora Roberts or really any good romance/mystery novel usually catch my attention pretty quickly. Some of my favorite past reads are The Bride Quartet series, and the Irish Born series both by Nora Roberts. I can’t wait for the next books in Cassandra Clare’s “Mortal Instruments” and “The Infernal Devices” series, definitely the best books I have read in a long time. Harry Potter is another one of my favorites along with Mystic River by Dennis Lehane. I also enjoyed reading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers. Since I read so fast and enjoy it, I’ve decided to add reviews to this web site about all the books that I read to help other people decide which books are worth reading.
I enjoy listening to rock, rap and r&b music. Some of my favorite musicians are Amy Studt, Creed, 3 Doors Down, Days of The New, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Sublime, Jessie McCartney and Tupac Shakur (2Pac). Some of my favorite songs are “Misfit” & “Just A Little Girl” by Amy Studt, “Behind Blue Eyes” by Limp Bizkit, “Papercut”, “Crawling” & “Breaking The Habit” by Linkin Park. I also like “I Miss You” by Blink 182 and “Anxiety” by The Black Eyed Peas. (Just to name a few)
One thing a lot of people don’t know about me is that I make diaper cakes and bring one to every baby shower I’m invited to. A diaper cake is at least 80+ diapers grouped together and decorated to form the shape of a cake tied together with ribbon and stuffed with a variety of other baby items. I also make “Towel Cakes” which usually consist of 2 bath towels, 2-3 hand towels and about 3-4 washcloths and anything you’d like to put inside. I can be sarcastic at times. I like to do math for fun. I LOVE to read. I LOVE crazy socks (my favorite socks are from Little Miss Matched). I like fairies. I love to laugh – I probably laugh more than anyone you know. I enjoy watching movies, probably a bit too much… And I’m really not sure what more to say…
