Nora Roberts - The MacGregor Brides - book review
Nora Roberts - The MacGregor Brides - review
Laura (a lawyer), Gwendolyn (a doctor), and Julia (a realtor) all MacGregor cousins in their mid to late twenties live together in the same home. None of them planning to marry any time soon, their careers are a bit more important... Or so they thought. It just so happens that their grandfather has different plans for them.
At ninety years old Daniel MacGregor has no time to waste, he wants to watch his great grandchildren grow and how is he supposed to do that if his grandchildren aren't even thinking about marriage? Having experience in "match making" with his own children he believes opposites attract and he thinks he's just the person to give them the push they need.... KEEP READING...

So much going on!
So, here it is February already and unfortunately my “birthday resolution” has yet to be accomplished. The end of last year just got a bit too crazy with the Holidays and all the family birthdays (not to mention my own). Now this year (2011) has (so far) probably been the busiest year of my life. Shh, don’t tell anyone but, we haven’t even gotten our Christmas decorations put away. With Serenity in preschool, since it is a parent co-op preschool I have had to help out at preschool, attend meetings (to listen to what’s all going on in preschool, certain events etc), attend even more meetings now that the annual Peter Rabbit Breakfast and Carnival is coming up and...
Can you believe that?! I totally can’t believe Destiny will be ONE WHOLE YEAR OLD in about 46 days. That is a little over ONE month… WOW. In one year she has learned to hold her head up, sit up on her own, laugh, feed herself finger foods...
Serenity will be FOUR in September, yeah I can’t believe that one either haha. That is about 7 months away; my babies are growing too fast. She LOVES preschool and making tons of new friends. Serenity is just very into meeting new people. She is becoming very interested in books which I absolutely LOVE about her because I am a bit of a book fanatic! She has learned to...
We now have new upstairs neighbors and they are just as noisy (if not even more noisy) than the last people who lived up there and to be quite honest they’re driving me MAD. Haha the joys of apartment living right?! I have been up there to politely introduce myself and...

Another new year, another new beginning, another you... Or maybe not?
Can you believe it's already 2011? Better yet can you believe an entire year (2010) has gone by so fast? I know it's gone by extremely fast for me anyway. I still can't believe how fast 2010 has passed.... So a little recap of what's all happened in 2010:...
We started the new year off in Bellingham, Washington with Dustins uncle Jack, aunt Debbie, and her parents and then in March we had Destiny. That has definitely been the best thing to happen this last year. In April my sister came to...
So for one I sure do hope 2011 takes it's time. I would like to at least try to enjoy this year :D. Now that it's January, Destiny has finally popped her 2nd tooth through (just today in fact), and my...
As far as having a new years resolution goes though, I think my only one is to get my GED within the first half of the year. I know I can do it, I just need to DO IT. You know? Do goals count as new years resolutions though? Are they the same thing? Kinda? Well I do have a few goals for this year... First again is the GED. Second is to workout a little more often.... OK ok alot...
Moving on, Serenity is LOVING preschool, knows her ABC's except for one or two letters in the middle somewhere...Destiny LOVES being able to get around on her own now, she is just a little bit of balance away from...

November already?
So am I the only one who can't believe it is November already?? I also can't believe I will be 21 in about two weeks...
So it is now November 8th and believe it or not we have already decorated for Christmas (minus a few final touches)... Yeah I believe we're probably the first home in America to be decorated for Christmas this year...

I am NOT crazy :D Or am I?
WELL, where-o-where do we start? I can’t BELIEVE it’s already almost Halloween again! No, what I REALLY can’t believe is that I will be 21 next month…. Or that Serenity is in PRESCHOOL! WOW! Where does the time go? Seriously, when I was five I would almost swear that five minutes was more like five HOURS. Now, if someone tells me to wait five minutes...
...So, Serenity started preschool this last Thursday (which makes me feel like a grandma) haha. I don’t know what it is about you baby starting school that makes you feel old, but whatever it is definitely does. She went on her first field trip last Friday :) Destiny and I got to go with her and of course it was extra special because this was her very first trip to the Pumpkin Patch too! They’re going to have a “Pumpkin Carving Night” at school so we had to leave serenity’s pumpkin at school for now. Saturday we went back to the Pumpkin Patch with Dustin and everyone got a pumpkin to carve here at home (even baby Desi haha). I got one of the pumpkins you can use to make pumpkin pie and I was going to attempt making my own pumpkin pie but...
...HAHA I’m such a loser, I’m not really sure why I’ve just shared this with all of you but there it is. I am NOT a people person...

Pepsi products with REAL sugar!
So I am SO excited to announce Pepsi just released "Sierra Mist - Natural" to be a "permanent" Pepsi product sold practically everywhere! They have been experimenting off and on through, gosh probably the last year or so? Maybe longer? Anyway, they've been experimenting with using REAL sugar in their sodas and more natural ingredients. Now, I know soda is terrible for you but this makes it at least a little better... Every bit counts and at least they're trying right? That is more than you can say for some other Soda companies. I just wish that they would release their "Pepsi Throwback" permanently. THAT would be awesome! I have never been a big Pepsi fan but the flavor of the Pepsi with real sugar is incredible! The Sierra Mist in all honesty is all right... You can taste the...

Disney Anyone?
As most of you know we took our (almost yearly) trip to a Disney park… This year we chose to go to Disney Land because we have been to Disney World the last 3 years and Disney Land only once before which was 4 years ago. Anyway, our trip started at about 4:00 Tuesday morning and lasted 4 days, our venture home started at about 4:30 Saturday morning. So, needless to say the trip there and the trip home both were VERY exhausting and we did it all half asleep with a three year old and a six month old haha...
While we were in Down Town Disney the second night everything was closing and I came across a store called “Little Miss Matched” the outside of the store was ADORABLE, so of course I had to go see what was inside… DUH...

Starting “School” and life doesn’t get any crazier…
So, it’s September again… As everyone knows our oldest daughter Serenity Just turned 3 this month, boy I can’t tell you how fast these last three years have gone by. I’m having a real hard time believing she’s not my little two year old any longer. We’re starting her on a “pre-school curriculum” next month, and looking into maybe a dance class for her to get out and socialize/make a couple friends. A few people have questioned why I want her to start school so early… Well, I could go on forever about why I think...
My grandpa is in the hospital AGAIN after another surgery… They said he is doing ok but theyre going to keep him for 4-5 months to make sure everything heals properly. He hates the hospital he is in right now. He doesn’t feel he gets very good care there at Adventist, I don’t blame him...

Just thinkin' it might be time for a new blog....
Can you BELIEVE Serenity is going to be THREE in just under TWO WEEKS?!?! Well I can't. It is so hard to believe when it still seems we were just bringing her home from the hospital yesterday... Our very first, very beautiful baby.... And she's already becoming a very BIG girl and not to mention a very BIG sister. Five years ago when Dustin and I first got together I would have never ever in a million years imagined........

U.S. study finds Girls reaching puberty increasingly early... Why? What does this mean?
My husband actually came across this article the other day and sent it to me... I read it and to be quite honest I have to agree with what it is saying. I have only been alive 20 years and I my self have witnessed girls starting puberty earlier and earlier every year. My sister is one of these girls. In middle school and high school the pressure to become a "woman" is completely outrageous and only getting worse....

Summer is finally here!
This last weekend was 4th of July weekend which we spent down at the beach with Dustin’s family. Now those of you who know everything that’s happened over the last 5 years knows that could have taken one of two roads – either turning into a long ugly horribly wrong weekend… OR turning out to be an unexpectedly GREAT weekend…
I still can’t believe we have been blessed with TWO very beautiful girls. It’s challenging – So much more so than it was with just one little girl – but also SOO worth every minute of it. My life is never dull with Serenity and Destiny in it…
Dustin and I looked into preschools for serenity and decided on a nice little preschool in Milwaukee… After words kicking our selves a bit because we’re just not sure if sending Serenity to a public school is really best for not only us but her as well and mostly her. As probably every parent knows “they say” the first 3-5 years in a child’s ...

Summer? Maybe...
This weekend we went to the beach for the first time this year/ Destiny’s first time ever, and it seems Serenity has more fun every time we go. Seriously, she was loving it so much she didn’t want to leave… We ended up bribing her with the candy store haha. Anyway, we decided to make it a day trip so we got to Rockaway around 2 in the afternoon. Yeah we take forever to get out of the house lol. So we got there around 2, took a few minutes to say hi and visit with Dustin’s grandma Betty and her friend/a family friend Helen… Then we went straight to the beach. Serenity started playing in the sand almost right away – we all had a blast. We tried making sand castles but serenity had a little too much fun knocking them down so that didn’t last then she and Dustin took turns burying each others feet and tossing sand around (not a good idea if you don’t want it ending up in your mouth lol). Destiny slept just like Serenity did when we took her to the beach for the first time… It was so nice not having to worry about it raining that I totally forgot I wasn’t wearing sunscreen – BAD idea… So now I’m burnt and didn’t even realize it until we got back to Dustin’s grandmas.

A whole lifetime of craziness… In a month… haha
I don’t know where to start… I think every month gets a bit crazier than the last… I guess we will start with Serenity...
So, pretty much everyone knows we’ve had a pretty challenging time getting her to transition from our bed into her own since she’s slept with us for her whole life so far and we don’t exactly believe in the CIO method… While it may work for some it just doesn’t for us. Well to get her to sleep in her own bed I usually have to sit next to her until she falls asleep and then she’s up every couple hours to I’m guessing make sure were still here and haven’t left her somewhere. I don’t know how kids ...
